Green Forest R-2 is a Title I school wide school! As your child’s teacher, my door is always open for you. Please visit family resources for some activities that your family can do together to support your child's learning in the classroom. If you would like to discuss your child’s progress, please contact me at 729-3902 to set up a conference time. For those with e-mails, you can email me at aanderson@gfr2.k12.mo.us. You can also contact me through Facebook Messenger. Written notes are likewise welcome! Remember, you are still your child’s most important teacher. In order to better engage in your child's learning, please visit the following websites for some things your family can do together:

Help Your Child Do Better in School: This website outlines 44 proven ideas parents can use to help their children have a positive learning experience at school.

Front Row: Students are encouraged to log on to this app at home to practice Math and English Language Arts skills we are learning in the classroom.

IXL: This is another website that allows free practice on Math and English Language Arts skills we are working on in the classroom.

NEA Website: What you can do as a parent to help protect your child from being bullied or engaging in bullying behavior.

Free Rice: Teach your child that everyone can make a difference! This website provides opportunity for everyone to play online, learn online, and feed the hungry! For every correct answer you choose, 10 grains of rice are raised to help end world hunger through the World Food Programme. Kids can practice math, language, geography, and many other content-area skills on this website.

Fun Brain For Family: This website is full of educational games that cover a wide variety of interest and all subject areas and target specific age level. There are links for “homework relief,” “parent-kid challenges,” and “books on the run.” A family education newsletter that helps with school, life, entertainment, and special needs issues is also linked to this website.

Scholastic for Family: Scholastic contains age appropriate guides for helping your child learn to love reading. This website also offers resources for helping your child with math, technology, science, and social studies. In addition, there is an array of information about family matters that you may find beneficial.
