Good Morning Mustang family. This week is a busy week here at the Forest. It is crazy to think that first quarter has come to a close. This means that first quarter report cards will be going home at some point this week. They will either be sent home with your student or if you have a conference with the teacher this week, then they may provide it directly to you during your conference. This brings me to my next point. Parent-Teacher conferences are all this week. Teachers have sent home information about how to schedule a conference with them as well as their availability. If you did not receive that information and would like to schedule a conference with your students teacher, please contact the office. The goal is to have every parent/guardian speak to their child's teacher as some point during this week even if it is only for just a few minutes. Support for what we do in the home is critical to the success of our students. Taking just a moment for teachers and parents to communicate on a regular basis is an important step for building that support and cooperation which is what makes the Forest a special place.
Second, our pumpkin competition kicked off today. Teachers and staff have decorated a pumpkin and students can vote for their favorite ones by bringing in some change and dropping it into the jar of their favorite one. This is a fundraiser led by PTO and proceeds go to support our reading counts reward days, final fun day, and so much more. So if you have some loose change laying around the house, send it to school with your student to vote for their favorite pumpkin.
REMINDER!!!! There is no school this Friday, October 20th and Monday, October 23rd. Students have a special fall 4-day weekend. Enjoy your fall break with your students.
Also, don't forget to get the Green Forest and the TeacherEase apps. Stay up to date on all things Green Forest with access to the events calendar, dining menus and so much more. The TeacherEase app will allow you to track your students progress in all of their classes, view attendance data, and track their food service account. Negative account balances go home weekly.
