Green Forest Mustangs

Good morning Mustangs. I wanted to write to remind you of a few things regarding your student's lunch account. I know that between Christmas break and the snow days that we haven't really had a chance to get back into the regular routine of school yet. I am hoping that the winter weather is in our past and we can continue our school year uninterrupted. In these last few weeks of an irregular schedule it is easy to forget about something like your child's lunch account. Here are just a few simple reminders for keeping up with your balance.

1. TeacherEase.com allows you access to the parent portal for your child/children. There is both an app for your phone and access directly through the web. Simply login to your portal and click on the link that says fees. You are able to see every charge and payment for the entire school year as well as their current positive or negative balance. As a reminder, if the number is in parentheses, it is a negative balance. If you believe there is an error just contact the office and we can work to fix it.

2. The website also allows you to make a payment online via credit card. Please know that using this method requires a 2.9% convenience fee. That convenience fee is not the school making a profit and in fact has nothing to do with us. That fee is charged by the site as a cost for processing the payment on our behalf. I do not believe online payment is available through the app yet at this time. You have to be on the website.

3. If you do not have your login information for the parent portal, please contact the office. We can help you either reset your account or create one for you if you have not done so.

4. Breakfast is $2.10 and Lunch is $2.70 for paid students and $0.30 and $0.40 for students who qualify for reduced prices. This means that for every paid student in your house, one week of eating breakfast and lunch everyday cost a total of $24.00.

5. What if your student has a large negative account balance? Will we still feed them? Yes we will. However, per board policy we may begin to offer them an alternative meal as opposed to the normal tray menu. This would generally be something like an uncrustable sandwich and a piece of fruit.

6. We try to send home negative lunch account balance notifications weekly.  We send them out as both a hard copy letter sent home with your student and also an email. If your email has changed please let us know so we can have the most up to date information in our system.

7. You can reapply for free or reduced lunch status at any time. If you have had a change in employment or to your family that has caused a change in your income or the number of people living in your home then you may now qualify to receive free or reduced prices. Contact the office or come by the school and we can give you a new application to fill out at any time.

Thank you and Go Mustangs.
