We are right at a week away until our first day of school on August 24th. We are so excited to get started and are looking forward to seeing all of our students back at that time. Please know that Open House will be Monday, August 22nd from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. This is a come and go event that allows you to meet the teacher. If you were unable to attend registration last week we will have you do that at open house as well.
We have some new systems in place this year that are focused on communication between the school and you. The first is our new website and Green Forest App. The app will allow you to receive instant push notifications of any urgent school announcement such as a closure of school for inclement weather. The app and website are all linked up with our social media pages on Facebook and Twitter. Communication through the website, app, and social media pages will mainly be schoolwide announcements or stories of all the great things that are going on in the building.
The other is our new student information system, TeacherEase. Our student information system is where we maintain student and parent contact information and is also the program that teachers will use as their gradebook. Each parent can sign up for parent portal access that allows you to login and see communications specific to your child such as grades, attendance, lunch account balance, and ways to communicate with the teacher. If you attended registration, we set up your portal at that time. If you did not attend registration or if mom attended but dad needs his own login (or vice versa), just contact the office and we can get it set up for you in no time. The parent portal for TeacherEase can be accessed online at teacherease.com or by downloading the TeacherEase app for parents in the Apple or Android app stores.
