It is hard to believe that we have already finished up the first quarter of the school year. Last Friday the 14th was the last day of first quarter. The end of first quarter means that it is time for our parent/teacher conferences. Your child's teacher will contact you and set up a time to visit either in person or on the phone about the progress that they are making this year and discuss celebrations and concerns that they have seen during this first quarter. If you are meeting in person, the teacher will provide your students first quarter report card at that time. If you are meeting virtually or over the phone, then report cards will be sent home with your student. Report cards will become available to view online in the parent portal website (TeacherEase.com) at the end of the week.
Every year at parent teacher conferences we ask parents to complete a culture and climate survey. The teacher will direct you to the survey at the conclusion of your meeting. It is a short survey that will only take a couple of minutes. We will provide results of the survey in the coming weeks.
If you come into the building for parent/teacher conferences, you will notice our pumpkin decorating contest going on. For the next two weeks, students may bring in money to vote on their favorite pumpkin that has been decorated by a staff member. The pumpkin with the most money will be crowned the winner. Proceeds go to our PTO and are used for such events as reading counts rewards trips and final fun day.
Finally, there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 21st and Monday October, 24th.
